Threadjam... Modern embroidery and custom gifts, designed especially for you.
Threadjam makes purses, accessories, home decor items, toys, pet beds and toys, and other products, all from repurposed, salvaged and surplus fabric. We take recycling one step further, into upcycling! We will take a treasured, but worn out or out-of-fashion item, like a special dress or favourite fabric, and upcycle it into something new and useful.

Where does ThreadJam come from?
Years ago, when my mother, Marjorie, was teaching me how to hand embroider, she told me to save my "orts". Those are the little bits of thread left over, too small to be reused, and to place them in a jar. I didn't really understand why I should save them, and in hindsight realize it was to keep them from messing up the living room, but the habit stuck. I have a big Mason jar next to the chair I usually sew in, and it contains a colourful array of all different threads. Looking at it, it's quite beautiful, in an organic and natural way.
When thinking of a name for my business, ThreadJam became a natural fit because I keep my orts in a jam jar!
